My thoughts are interrupted when he walks back into the bedroom with two bottles of water. He is still gloriously naked and the sight of his now relaxed member, begins to stir my desire again. I sit up with the pillows, and smile in appreciation as Jonathan hands me a bottle. He slides back in bed with his back against the headboard then pulls me to his side.
“You feeling okay?” He says smiling down at me, but with a tone of apprehension.
I snuggle closer. “I am feeling better than okay. You really know how to show a girl a good time.” I say sincerely.
“This was a great day. And not just because of all the sex,” He says brightly. I nudge him playfully in response and then spontaneously yawn.
I need to get out of here…
“I’m wearing you out. I texted Michael after we ate, as you are so eager to go home. He is ready whenever you are.” He states matter factly and thankfully without the tinge of anger from before.
I kiss his bicep softly for his understanding. “Thank you. Too bad you have meetings all day. Tomorrow is my last full day in the Hamptons.”
“What are you doing at night?”
“I think just having dinner around seven with Ash.”
Jonathan sits up. “You should come to James’ party with me. You’d be doing me a huge favor. You can even bring Ashely if you want. It’s the Fourth of July, so there will be fireworks and everything.” He says with hope in his eyes.
My stomach does a little flip flop at the offer. “What time is the party?”
“I think nine.”
“I need to talk to Ashely but she is always down for a party.”
“Is that a yes?”
I look up at him, and take breathe to push away the anxiouness.“Barring any emergencies, yes,” I tightening my hold on him.
Jonathan responds with a sweet kiss on the top of my head. Trying to hide the next yawn with my hand causes Jonathan to chuckle.
“I should get going. I think you are right. You wore me out.” I say, straining to keep my eyes open.
Jonathan strengthens his hold. “I am not kicking you out, Madison. You can stay if you want to…” He says, and there is a challenge in his words.
I shake my head. “You have a busy day tomorrow. I don’t want to throw off your schedule.”
“You wanted to leave before you knew I had meetings. But just know you don’t have to go.”
“I know,” I say, untangling myself from the sheets then standing up, which fortuitously reveals my lost bra.
“There it is. I guess I can’t add it to the pile,” Jonathan says jokingly and I stick out my tongue at him. “If you’re really trying to leave you better not do that again…” He says with an air of warning but the craving is back in his eyes.
And in that second, I really thought about staying the night and enjoying the feeling of his body around me. I shake my head to regain my resolve then I grab my dress at the end of the bed. I quickly put it on as to create a barrier between us then I kneel so we are face to face.
I lean in and kiss him sweetly on the lips and then his nose. “Another time.” I whisper and stand back up.
Lie. But this seems to satisfy him, then he pounces off the bed and starts getting dressed.
“Jonathan, you don’t have to get dressed. I can see myself out.” I say gathering my bra and tucking it into my purse.
“First, a gentleman never has a lady ‘see herself out.’ Secondly, I’m coming with you on the ride,”
“Jonathan, it is super late. You should go to sleep. You don’t have to come with me, I’m a big girl.” I say in admonishment but also in panic. I’m fleeing the scene of the crime and now it wants to follow me home.
“It’s fine. And…this isn’t a discussion.” He says in a calm but definitive tone.
“Okay, but don’t blame me for being tired tomorrow.” I say and take one more look around to see if I left anything.
Jonathan is texting on his phone as he slides on his flip-flops. “Ready? Michael is outside,” He says and walks toward me grabbing my hand.
“Yes, Mr. Cain,” I respond sweetly.
As we walk hand and hand out through the door, I sneak a backwards glance to get one last look at the room and specifically the bed. I make sure to capture every inch and secretly vow never to be there again.
As we walk out of the glass castle, I take a deep inhale of the fresh rain and crisp air. My whole body feels lax as I walk, so I lean heavily on Jonathan for support. I forgot how exhausting sex could be. I giggle to myself and Jonathan looks down at me with a puzzled face.
“What is so funny?”
I shake my head. “I was just laughing at the day.”
Michael is waiting for us at the end of the walk, the door already open. I give him a polite smile fully aware he knows what we have been up to. The temperature has dropped a bit and a chill runs through me as soon as I release myself from my Hamptons god to glide into the seat. He slides in behind me and Michael closes the door. I shiver again and rub my hands on my legs.
“You’re cold?” Jonathan asks and before I can answer he pulls me into his side.
“Thank you. That’s much better.” I kiss his cheek in appreciation. Just as I pull away, Michael starts the drive back to my hideaway.
“So what were you laughing about?” Jonathan asks again. I roll my eyes in the darkness. It is pitch black in the car except for the few strobes of light from passing cars on the road. He nudges me to get an answer.
“Why do you ask so many questions?” I respond.
“You’re answering a question with a question…”
“Okay, okay. I was just laughing at the fact my body feels like jelly.”
“Jelly, huh? I will take that as a compliment.”
“You do that.” I giggle and then yawn again.
“We will be there soon. You can close your eyes for a bit if you’re that tired,” He says softly, hugging me a bit tighter.
“Okay.” And with that, I fade away, no longer able to keep my eyes open.
“Madison, wake up. We’re here,” Jonathan whispers softly, gently waking me up from my nap.
My eyes flutter open and the porch light is flooding into the car, shining on the Hampton god’s beautiful face. Even in a daze he is flawless. I stretch the last bit of sleep away and sit up to look out the window and see Michael outside patiently waiting. The house looks quiet with only the kitchen light on. Hopefully that means Ashely is still out. I sit up and turn to grab the door handle, but Jonathan turns me back around and holds my hand.
“Madison, I just want to make sure we are good. I know today had a few highs and lows but it was really the best day I’ve had in a really long time. Thank you.” He says softly, with sincerity in his eyes. I immediately feel a rush of warmth wash over me at his words.
“Jonathan today was wonderful. Everything you planned…and even some of the unplanned things too…” I say softly and squeeze his hand.
Jonathan rewards my candor with a sweet lingering kiss, igniting desire within once again. He pulls away, places his forehead to mine and takes a deep breath.
“You sure you want to go inside?” He says in a huff, pulling me closer.
For a moment, I considered staying right where I am. Ashely would have no idea I was even here. But, finally my logic kicks in and I know the answer to his question.
“Yes.”
“I knew that’s what you’d say.”
And he lets go of my hand, cooling us both down instantly. The movement wasn’t out of frustration but of disappointment. I use the opportunity to open the door and Michael is there to help me down.
“Thank you Michael,”
“My pleasure Miss Davis. Have a good evening,” He says with a slight nod.
As I quickly walk up the path I can hear Jonathan walking behind me. I’m consumed with a flood of thoughts as I walk to the door and anxiety begins to brood. I take a steadying breath as I dig out my keys. I place it in the lock then turn back around to face my Hampton god. His face is pensive, showing I’m not the only one in deep thought. I close the distance between us and wrap my arms around his waist and smile up at him.
“Thank you again for a beautiful day,”
“Thank you for spending the day with me…” He says with his hazel eyes shining.
He leans down and kisses me once again this time with none of the sweetness from the car, but with fervor. I let his hands roam my body and pull him tighter enjoying the feel of him for the last time tonight. By the time we break, we are both panting.
“I’ll come pick you up around nine for the party.” He murmurs.
“Okay. I look forward to it.” I reply and kiss him very softly again then push away to gain some distance. Jonathan looks at me with understanding, knowing that the space is needed.
“Goodnight Jonathan.”
“Sweet dreams, Madison.” He whispers, turns and walks towards the car. I watch him till Michael opens the door, he gives a small wave and then I walk into the house closing the door behind me.
Exhaustion washes over me as I take off my shoes, drop my purse on the bench then begin my long ascent upstairs to my room. All of my muscles are sore now that the adrenaline from the day has passed. I pull off my dress, toss it to the side and slide under the covers. In seconds of plopping my head on the pillow, I immediately fade to black.
